About Us
The idea for Amane sprung into being in December of 2023 from within the depths of the Dutch swamp lands. After seeing some prints of our nature photography up close, we realized it we could share this and inspire people to liven up their homes.
After a slow 6 month period of developing photos and a 3 month period of creating a website and brand, Amane has officially launched on September 3rd, 2024 💖
We care about the following values:
-
Nature
Because the quality of our lives is dependent upon the closeness of our relationship with nature.
-
Beauty
Because beauty is a universal human value. Everyone can derive joy from a pleasing aesthetic.
-
Transparency
How different this world would be if all information would be openly shared.
With the products being colorful pictures of unadulterated flowers and animals, it is aspired to bring a bit of vibrant nature and beauty into everyone's lives.
With the design of the company and the website, we seek to be transparent and keep things simple. The values speak for themselves.
About the Photographer
Amane's photos are taken by the long time wildlife photographer Marleen Solo. She got her first camera in 2010 and has been practicing nature photography ever since. Marleen Solo is passionate about the simplicity and purity of nature which she seeks to capture and express using photography. She feels drawn to the many pleasing sceneries that nature provides us with: water, animals, flowers, plants, landscapes, and more. The pictures are taken everywhere and nowhere, in the garden, on a boat, or during wildlife excursions into nature reserves.
About the Founder
Amane is founded by Michel Klaasen. Michel has a wide array of interests, stretching from woodworking to cosmology. Some of these interests he pursued academically but after 2 years of doing so he became burned out. After recovering, he decided to once again tread foot inside of the economy. In his spare time, he likes to argue with people online and hide from people irl.
About the Product
Everything in life starts with an expedition into the wilderness…
Our photographer takes her camera wherever she goes and captures any pretty scene that she encounters. Right now, the camera she uses is the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. Usually, she is accompanied by a variety of lenses for different scenarios.
From the great many photos that she has taken over the years, we make a selection. The selection is processed with Adobe Lightroom and from all the images that have been processed, a final selection is made to be put on the website. We upload the designs to our printing partner who will take care of the fulfillment. When an order is placed, the order is automatically sent to our printing partner who then prints the canvas at the nearest possible location and ships it to you.
