Amane? What's that?
Amane is an internet company that sells unique nature photography on canvas prints. While it originates from the Netherlands, it functions worldwide, due to the nature of online print on demand shops.
Why is it called Amane?
Because Amane sounds nice and pretty, just like our photos. I preferred a personal sounding name over something purely descriptive. The first name for the shop I came up with was Zeeza, but that name was already in use for another webshop in the Netherlands.
Little Bit of History
The idea for Amane sprung into being in December of 2023 from within the depths of the Dutch swamp lands. After having seen prints of our own nature photography up close, we realized they were actually quite beautiful and that we could sell them all over the world.
After a slow 6 month period of developing photos and a 3 month period of creating a website and brand, Amane has officially launched in September, 2024 ✨

The Photographer
Amane's photos are taken by the long time wildlife photographer Marleen Solo. She started with nature photography in 2010 and has been doing so ever since. Marleen Solo is passionate about the simplicity and purity of nature which she seeks to capture and express using photography. She feels drawn to the many pleasing sceneries that nature provides us with: water, animals, flowers, plants, landscapes, and more. The pictures are taken everywhere and nowhere, in the garden, on a boat, or during wildlife excursions into nature reserves.
The Founder
Amane is founded by Michel Klaasen. Michel has a wide array of interests, stretching from woodworking to cosmology. Some of these interests he pursued academically but after 2 years of doing so he became burned out. After recovering, he decided to once again tread foot inside of the economy. He intends to one day live on his own beautiful self-sustaining piece of land and contemplate life's questions.
The Photos & Prints
Everything in life starts with an expedition into the wilderness…
Marleen takes her camera wherever she goes and captures a beautiful scene if she sees one. Right now, she uses the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. Usually, she is accompanied by a variety of lenses for different scenarios.
From the great many photos that she has taken over the years, we make a selection. The selection is processed with darktable and from all the images that have been processed, a final selection is made to be put on the website. We upload the designs to our printing partner Gelato who takes care of printing and shipping with a wide network of production facilities all over the globe.
